UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network Youth

As students inspired by the SDGs as a call to action, YSIF is proud to partner with the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network – Youth. SDSN Youth “provides SDG education and opportunities for young people to pioneer innovative solutions to the world’s biggest challenges.” We became an official SDSN Youth member organization in February 2018, and the first of more than 750 members to be headquartered in China.

Through this partnership, YSIF helps delegates operating startups, non-profit initiatives, and student groups to become members of the SDSN Youth network and benefit from other U.N. programs.

Young Sustainable Impact

YSIF is proud to have formed a partnership with Young Sustainable Impact (YSI), a recognized nonprofit headquartered in Norway with several global offices (including one in Shanghai). YSI aims to create real impact start-ups focused on solving one or more of the SDGs. YSI’s annual Innovation Program for youth includes a 5-month online course offering knowledge and tools in innovation, creativity, and leadership. It culminates in a fully funded, 2-week team event in Oslo, Norway that brings participants’ start-up ideas to life.

Through this partnership, YSIF delegates receive assistance and information when applying to YSI’s 2019 Innovation Program, and can become connected with YSI’s many global partners.

SEED for Social Innovation (SEED) is a social innovation accelerator connecting China and the U.S., created by a group of Harvard PhD candidates in 2012. It is now a social enterprise in China with a long-term vision of empowering young Chinese innovators to creatively solve social problems through capacity building, a supportive community, and impact evaluation. SEED inducts 30 SEED Fellows annually on a highly competitive basis. Past fellows include 22 Forbes “30 Under 30” winners and the only two Echoing Green Fellows from mainland China.

Through this partnership, YSIF forms connections between its international participants and Chinese change-makers; likewise, SEED Fellows working in different companies can collaborate with YSIF speakers and delegates.

Solve is an initiative of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) that advances lasting solutions from tech entrepreneurs to address the world's most pressing problems. Each year, Solve issues four Global Challenges to find the most promising Solver teams who will drive transformational change. Solve then builds and convenes a community of leaders and changemakers to form partnerships these Solver teams need to scale their impact.

Through this partnership, YSIF delegates receive assistance and information when applying to Solve’s 2019 Global Challenges. Other collaborations are on the way!
